Wimbledon, England (AHN) - Justine Henin seemed to have a simple strategy for her quarterfinal match against Serena Williams-keep her moving and take advantage or her lack of mobility.
Henin's strategy finally paid off, but it took three sets to outlast the stingy Williams 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 and advance to the semifinals where she will face 18th seeded Marion Bartoli.
Williams, who collapsed on the court in pain during her fourth round match, showed up to play with her leg, left wrist, and thumb all taped.
Henin, who could complete a career grand slam with a win at the All England Lawn and Tennis Club, didn't think Williams' injuries played much of a role in the outcome of the match.
"I didn't see that she had a lot of trouble to move," Henin said. "Maybe a little at the beginning of the match."
Williams wouldn't use her injuries as an excuse afterwards, but admitted she wasn't playing to her full potential.
"Definitely not 100 percent at all," she said. "It was probably at 40 or 50 max. If I had been healthy, I think I would have won, 100 percent."
