Wimbledon, England (AHN) - Top-ranked Justine Henin defeated Elena Vesnina of Russia 6-1, 6-3 Friday to advance to the fourth round at Wimbledon.
Henin, a finalist in last year's tournament, played with a long strip of tape running down her right leg. She has been plagued by tendinitis in her right foot, but the injury wasn't apparent on Friday.
If she was hurt, Henin had plenty of time to rest during a one-hour rain delay while leading 3-2 in the second set. When the match resume, Henin broke and then served out the match.
Henin, who won her third consecutive French Open this year, needs to win at Wimbledon to complete a career Grand Slam. Henin has lost only three of 11 games in three matches at Wimbledon this year.
