Havre De Grace, MD (AHN) - Michelle Wie may not play in Sunday's final round of the LPGA Championship after shooting an 11-over par 83 at Bulle Rock on Saturday with a left wrist injury that is clearly bothering her.
The 17-year-old Wie was unsure if she would play on Sunday because of her ailing wrist.
"I really want to play," she said. "I think it would be awesome to get another round under my belt. I just have to see how it goes tonight. If you don't see me on the first tee tomorrow morning, you'll know."
Wie was in trouble almost from the very start of the third round, scoring a double bogey on the third hole in what would end up as her highest round since shooting an 85 in the first round of the CJ Nine Bridges Classic in South Korea in 2003 when she was 14 years old.
Wie said, in hindsight, she would have likely skipped the tournament had it not been a major.
"I think I definitely would have reconsidered playing this week," she said. "I think I was kind of blinded because I wanted to play so bad. Maybe I would have reconsidered if it wasn't a major, but I was really anxious to get out here."
