Superstition, AZ (AHN) - The LPGA Tour will play its first four-round event of the season this weekend in the Safeway International at the Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club.

Defending champion Juli Inkster is back and aiming for her 32nd career title on tour, while Annika Sorenstam, fresh off the disappointment of losing in a playoff two weeks ago at the MasterCard Classic, is seeking more success at an event she has prospered in before.

Sorenstam, who won this event in back-to-back years in 2004-05 before Inkster's win last year, also won the event in 2001.

The tournament is a tune-up for next week's first major on the LPGA schedule, the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

The tournament boasts the top-60 players on the LPGA money list in the 144-person field, all vying for the first place check of $225,000 on Sunday afternoon.

Inkster entered the final round last year five shots behind leader Sarah Lee, but fired a five under par round of 67 to overtake Lee for the title.

Sorenstam is seeking her 70th win on the LPGA tour.

2006 Rolex Player of the Year Lorena Ochoa is also scheduled to play, as are Paula Creamer, Stacy Prammanasudh and Meaghan Francella, who have won on Tour already this season.

Laura Davies, who won this event four straight years from 1993-97, is also in the field.
