West Palm Beach, FL (AHN) - Once she heals from her wrist injury, Michelle Wie expects to come back in fine form for the LPGA season.
Or the PGA Tour season.
She just wants to play, and play well, and she doesn't care what her critics say about her playing with the men.
Just ask her.
"I think it's ridiculous for these people to say 'you shouldn't even try,'" Wie said in a recent interview with Yahoo Sports. "It's what life is. I mean, you fail when you compete and if you don't try, then you don't even know. Even if I fail, at least I know I tried."
Try as she may, Wie has still yet to win an LPGA event and has not made a cut in any PGA Tour event that she has entered.
"I definitely want to win and play well and to come back stronger than I was last year," she said. "I'll play every tournament the best I can with a great motivation and a great desire, and whatever happens, happens."
She was asked if she wanted to be the best female player in the world or the 20th best male or female, and she didn't voice a preference.
"I don't really care," she said. "I don't want to have any regrets. I want to look back and say I had a lot of fun, and I wasn't afraid to try anything. I want to feel like I've done my hardest and played my hardest. Whatever happens, happens."
The 17-year old phenom still wants to enjoy all facets of her life, including who she competes against when she plays golf.
"I'm going to live the way I want to, and whatever people say, they say. I don't really care."
