Indianapolis, IN (AHN) - It appears as though Danica Patrick will have plenty of company among her female brethren at this year's 91st running of the Indianapolis 500.
Patrick almost stole the show by racing for the win two years ago at Indy and she will likely have at least two other females beside her in motorsports' most-celebrated race.
Dreyer and Reinbold Racing driver Sarah Fisher and team co-owner Dennis Reinbold will submit their entries for the 500-Mile race at Indy Racing League headquarters Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Fisher, who will drive the No. 5 Dallara/Honda/Firestone entry in all of the IndyCar Series oval events this year, will be hoping to qualify for her sixth Indianapolis 500.Former Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Rice will field the other Dreyer and Reinbold Racing entry in the No. 15 Dallara/Honda/Firestone.
Milka Duno is also expected to compete in the IRL this season with Cahill Racing, but the status of that program is uncertain as the season-opener in Homestead-Miami draws near.
Indy Racing League president Brian Barnhart was expected to be on hand when Fisher presented her entry at Indy Racing League headquarters, located just outside of Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
