Are, Sweden (AHN) - Anja Paerson captured her second women's combined event Friday, winning a gold medal for the second time at the 2007 world championships.
Julia Mancuso of the United States won the silver medal.
"My dream was to win a gold medal. Now I have already two," Paerson told AP.
Paerson, who hasn't been 100 percent since undergoing knee surgery, took home the gold super-giant slalom on Thursday and raced to a time of 1 minute, 57.69 seconds on Friday. The combined also included a slalom leg.
"This season was hard for me in slalom. This was the hardest race of my life," said Paerson. "The snow was so aggressive."
Mancuso knew she had no chance of catching Paerson after the slalom run.
"In the slalom you never know how it's going to go. I gave it everything I could and had a good run. But Anja was too far ahead, so I just tried to get silver."
Finishing in third place was Austria's Marlies Schild with a time of 1:58.54.
