Houston, Texas (AHN) - Star Houston Comets guard Tina Thompson may be lured away from the struggling WNBA to a greener pasture, but she may have to cross an ocean to get there.
On Tuesday, Thompson told a local television station that she hasn't been satisfied with the paycheck she's getting in the WNBA and could look overseas to continue her playing career.
"I have played in this league for 11 years and I am not getting any younger," she told KRIV in Houston. "I am 32 years old and I have a 2-year-old son. So my focus is to make the best of my last years playing basketball."
Thompson has already played previously in Italy and Korea, and says there's a 70 percent chance she may go overseas once more, if the money's right.
However, she also said that the decision wouldn't be made immediately.
"It's not even an issue at this moment," she said.
Thompson is a six-time WNBA all-star. She's averaging 18.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the Comets this season, her 11th with the team. She has career averages of 16.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
