Comets Handle Lynx 79-67 As Thompson Leads Team To First Road Win Of Season

Minneapolis, MN (AHN) - The Houston Comets won their first road game of the season Sunday night as center Tina Thompson scored 23 points to lead the Comets (5-13) over the Minnesota Lynx (5-14), 79-67.

Seimone Augustus scored 22 points to lead the Lynx as Minnesota lost its fourth consecutive game.

Thompson also grabbed eight rebounds to help the Comets earn their first road victory of the season.

Heralded Lynx point guard Lindsey Harding added 16 points, but the game was all about Thompson who scored 17 points in the first half as Houston broke the game open by taking a commanding 16-point lead they wouldn't relinquish.

The teams face each other again Thursday night.
