West Palm Beach, FL (AHN) - Two WNBA matchups Friday night provided similar results as both underdogs rose up to surprise their opponents and grab convincing wins.
The Minnesota Lynx downed the Los Angeles Sparks to ednd their 10-game winning streak while the Houston Comets beat the Western Conference-leading San Antonio Silver Stars 69-69.

Lynx 85 Sparks 76
The Minnesota Lynx downed the Los Angeles Sparks 85-76 on Friday night as Svetlana Abrosimova and Seimone Augustus each scored 23 points to help the club snap a franchise-record tying 10-game losing streak.
Minnesota, (6-20), also got 10 points and 12 rebounds from Nicole Ohlde to help the Sparks continue their own miserable play.
The Sparks (8-15) have lost nine of their last 10 games.
The win was also the first for Minnesota over a team with a losing record in 10 chances this season.
Los Angeles was led by Mwadi Mabika who scored 14 points and Marta Fernandez who added 12.
With Minnesota up by five early in the third quarter, Augustus scored five points during a 9-0 run that included a free throw after Sparks' head coach Michael Cooper was handed one for arguing.
The quick blitz by the Lynx, which lasted less than three minutes, put Minnesota up 61-46.
After Los Angeles closed their deficit to 75-70, Augustus scored four quick points and Abrosimova nailed a 3-pointer to put the Lynx back up by double digits and end any thoughts of a comeback by the Sparks.
Comets 69 Silver Stars 63
Tamecka Dixon scored 21 points to fuel the Houston Comets 69-63 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars Friday.
Dixon shot a scorching 10-for-15 from the field and Tina Thompson added 17 points and eight rebounds.
The Silver Stars, who watched their lead in the Western Conference get cut to one game over the Sacramento Monarchs, was led by Sophia Young who scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
The Comets never relinquished the lead after going ahead with 2:24 left in the first quarter.
Ruth Riley and Becky Hammon each scored 11 points apiece for San Antonio.
