West Pam Beach, FL (AHN) - The Phoenix Mercury turned up the heat to an uncomfortable level as they scorched the Minnesota Lynx 106-93 Sunday Night.
In Chicago, the Sky were lifted to a thrilling 84-82 victory when Dominique Canty hit the game-winner with 6 seconds remaining.

Phoenix Mercury 106 Minnesota Lynx 93
The Phoenix Mercury got stellar performances from Penny Taylor and Tangela Smith as the team beat the Minnesota Lynx 106-93 Sunday night in a high-scoring affair.
Taylor scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Smith added a season-high 24 points to lead the Mercury to victory.
All-star forward Diana Taurasi scored just 13 points for the Mercury (13-10), as the team moved into a a tie with the Sacramento Monarchs for second place in the Western Conference.
The Lynx were led by Seimone Augustus who scored 23 points and Nicole Ohlde who added 17 points and eight rebounds. The Lynx, (5-19), have lost nine consecutive games.
"They lead the league in scoring per game so we knew they were going to put some points on the board," Ohlde said.
Phoenix extended their league record by surpassing the 100-point plateau for the fourth time this season.
"We had to play 40 minutes of basketball and that's what we need to do to win games," Smith said. "We can't let up in the fourth quarter or we can't start slow in the first quarter."
Chicago Sky 84 San Antonio Silver Stars 82
At Chicago, Dominique Canty hit a game-winning jump shot with only six ticks left on the clock in overtime to lift the Sky to a thrilling victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars Sunday night.
Chicago, (9-13), was led in scoring by Jia Perkins who tallied 27 points while Canty added 13.
"Whoever starts hitting shots, that's who we're going to go to," Perkins said. "I've been hitting the shots."
The victory pulled the Sky to within one-half game of the New York Liberty for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
San Antonio, which had its six-game winning streak snapped, was led by Sophia Young who scored 25 points and Becky Hammon who added 20 for San Antonio (14-7),
After Canty hit 1 of 2 foul shots to put the Sky up 82-80 lead with 1:21 left in overtime, Becky Hammon hit two foul shots for the Silver Stars to tie the score with 1:03 remaining.
Shortly thereafter, Canty hit her winning shot.
