West Palm Beach, FL (AHN) - The WNBA had a quiet night on Saturday as only two games were played.

The most entertaining of the two contests was Chicago's 68-65 win over Indiana whose outcome was not decided until the final seconds when Tamika Whitmore missed a 3-pointer.

In the other game, Detroit continued its winning ways with a 66-58 victory over Washington.

For a more detailed recap, read on.

Detroit Shock 66 Washington Mystics 58

The Shock upended the Mystics despite missing WNBA All-Star game MVP Cheryl Ford because of a knee injury.

Katie Smith scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Deanna Nolan added 12 points in the victory, which was the six in a row for the Shock.

Alana Beard led Washington with 16 points in the losing effort.

Chicago Sky 68 Indiana Fever 65

The Fever lost to the Sky after Tamika Whitmore failed to connect on a 3-pointer in the game's final seconds that would have sent the contest into overtime.

Despite the miss, Whitmore ended the day with a game-high 26 points.

Jia Perkins led the Sky in scoring with 17 points.

Indiana's loss continued what was already a bad day for the Fever. Earlier in the day, the club announced All-Star forward Tamika Catchings would miss two weeks of action because of a foot injury.
