Indianapolis, IN (AHN) - Indiana earned a franchise-record fifth consecutive victory behind 16 points from Tan White in a 79-63 win over the New York Liberty on Thursday night.
Tamika Whitmore scored 12 points and Anna DeForge had 11 for Indiana. The Fever's Tamika Catchings sat out the fourth quarter and fell one point short of her seventh double-double, finishing with nine points and 10 rebounds.
For New York, Shameka Christon and Janelle McCarville had 13 points and six rebounds and Loree Moore had 12 points.
Indiana (15-4) enters the All-Star break with the league's best record. Indiana won the regular-season series with the Liberty 3-1 and improved to 8-2 at home, the best in the WNBA. New York's winning streak was snapped at two games.
Indiana, the league's top defense, limited New York (10-9) to 38 percent shooting from the field and out-rebounded the Liberty 40-30.
