Houston, Texas (AHN) - Minnesota lost a game and a starting guard Thursday in an 87-77 WNBA loss to the Houston Comets.
Michelle Snow had 24 points, tying a career high, and nine rebounds to lead the Comets, who sent the Lynx to their sixth straight defeat.
Minnesota point guard Lindsey Harding will miss the rest of the season after an MRI confirmed the top pick in the 2007 draft has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee. Harding injured the knee Tuesday in Washington.
Harding leads all rookies in scoring, averaging 11.7 points and assists at 3.9.
Trailing 80-65, Minnesota went on a 9-0 run, pulling to 80-74 on a layup by Tiffany Stansbury with 1:44 remaining. Tina Thompson made a three-point play with 1:04 remaining for the Comets, who went on a 13-5 run to start the fourth quarter.
Seimone Augustus led Minnesota with 24 points, 11 in the third quarter, on 11-of-25 shooting. Shay Murphy scored 14 points.
Houston's Thompson had 22 points and seven rebounds, and Tamecka Dixon scored 15 off the bench.
