Auburn Hills, MI (AHN) - The Detroit Shock played their second nearly flawless second half in a row on Tuesday night against the Chicago Sky.

Following up on their league-record, 72-point output in the second half of their 111-82 victory over Phoenix, Detroit scored 52 points in the second stanza against Chicago in a 92-84 win.

The Shock (13-5) shot 69 percent in the second half while improving to 5-0 against the Sky (8-11).

Swin Cash led Detroit with 20 points and Deanna Nolan wasn't far behind with her 18 point-output. Cheryl Ford and Plenette Pierson each put up double-doubles, as Ford scored 10 points and contributed 10 rebounds and Pierson added 16 points and 10 boards. Pierson accomplished the feat as a reserve. Katie Smith also found a way to get into double-figures scoring 14 points while hitting 5-of-13 from the floor.

"We have so many great players that we seem to start every game playing at top speed," Cash said. "It takes us a while to play with patience. We did that in the second half again today, and we were able to pick Chicago apart."

Jia Perkins led all scorers and a balanced attack for the Sky with her 22 points as she hit 8-of-12 from the floor as a reserve. Candice Dupree posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, Chasity Melvin put up 18 points and Stacey Dales contributed 12 in the loss.

Detroit's coach Bill Laimbeer lifted the starting ban on star forward Kara Braxton two days after benching her for the Phoenix game. She played just four minutes in the first half, however, and finished with eight points in 12 minutes of action.
