WNBA: Lynx Force Overtime But Beard, Sanford Lift Mystics To Fifth Win In Seven Games

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - The Minnesota Lynx fought back from a 12-point deficit in the third quarter and Seimone Augustus sent the game into overtime thanks to a running jumper with 45 seconds left, but the team still couldn't stop their recent slide.

Alana Beard scored four of her 13 points in overtime as the Washington Mystics (7-12) outscored the Lynx (5-15), 12-4 in the extra session to claim a 91-83 victory.

Nakia Sanford led all scorers with 25 points for the Mystics who have won two in a row and five of seven. Sanford scored 13 points in the third quarter while helping the Mystics build a double digit lead. She also grabbed 10 boards.

Minnesota, who have dropped five in a row, was led by Svetlana Abrosimova's 20 points and Augustus' 16.

Washington pulled out the victory despite shooting just 36 percent from the floor. The Mystics forced 18 turnovers and scored 13 points on the fastbreak.
