Phoenix (AHN) - Sophia Young led San Antonio past the Phoenix Mercury 87-77 Wednesday night and gave the Silver Stars their fourth straight win after starting the season 4-4.
Young scored 26 points and had 12 rebounds for the Silver Stars (12-6) in the win.
Diana Taurasi had 27 points and nine rebounds for Phoenix, which has now dropped two in a row to fall two games behind San Antonio for the Western Conference lead.
San Antonio's Becky Hammon scored 10 points in the fourth quarter after missing three games with a sprained foot. Eight of those points came in a 10-2 run early in the fourth that included a pair of three-pointers.
Camille Little added 12 points and six rebounds for the Silver Stars, who shot 49 percent from the field.
Phoenix shot 37 percent and only 4-of-21 from three-point land.
