West Palm Beach, FL (AHN) - Washington and Seattle both scored in the 90's, getting big WNBA wins on Tuesday night, while Sacramento and Houston fought a little harder for offense, but also posted victories. The WNBA's leading scorer, Lauren Jackson, pumped in 33 points and hauled down 12 rebounds for Seattle, while Alana Beard netted 20 points for Washington.

Seattle Storm (7-6) 94, Chicago Sky (6-8) 76

Jackson exceeded her season-scoring average by ten points and did her usual monster work on the boards as well to power the Storm.

Jackson connected on 11-of-20 field goals and was successful with 9-of-10 free throws, including six in the pivotal third quarter.

Jia Perkins scored 19 points and Candice Dupree followed with 18 for the Sky, who dropped to a 6-8 record.

Washington Mystics (4-10) 91, Connecticut Sun (5-9) 75

Beard was especially strong in the second half, netting 16 of her 20 points as the Mystics pulled away for the win. Three other players reached double-figures in scoring for the victors: Tamara James (13), Nikki Teasley and Nikki Blue (12 each).

Katie Douglas led the Sun with 19 points and Erika Desousa added 16 as the team fell to 5-9.

Houston Comets (3-11) 75, San Antonio Silver Stars (8-5) 67

Tina Thompson erupted for all 17 of her points in the second half as the Comets surged past the Silver Stars. Thompson was cold in the opening half, missing all five of her shots, but recovered nicely to lead Houston to its third-consecutive home court win.

Sancho Lyttle and Hamchetou Maiga-Ba each scored 12 points for the Comets, who are improving after dropping their first 10 contests of the season.

Becky Hammon was terrific for San Antonio, ripping the nets for a game-high 32 points on 10-of-15 shooting. It was not enough to keep the team from falling to 8-5, however.

Sacramento Monarchs (10-4) 59, New York Liberty (7-7) 46

Rebekkah Brunson had 15 points and eight rebounds as the Monarchs won their fifth game in their last six outings. Scholanda Robinson and Adrian Williams each dropped in nine points in a well-balanced attack for Sacramento (10-4), which led 15-1 and never trailed.

The Liberty fell to 7-7 despite five 3-pointers by Lisa Willis and 10 points from Ashley Battle.
