New York, NY (AHN) - Diana Taurasi, the All-Star guard for the Phoenix Mercury and arguably the most exciting player in the WNBA, was suspended for two games for her outburst toward official Michael Price Friday night.
The league announced the suspension of the former star player for collegiate powerhouse, UConn, on Saturday, stating the suspension was for "inappropriate conduct toward game officials."
Taurasi's eruption came at the end of the Mercury's 87-84 loss to Detroit on Friday night when official Michael Price called an offensive foul against her when she collided with former Phoenix teammate, Plenette Pierson.
The Mercury's leading scorer, Taurasi didn't hide her feelings, calling the charging call against her, "bull."
Taurasi missed two three-point attempts during the final 13 seconds that could have tied the score.
