Indianapolis, IN (AHN) - The Connecticut Sun snapped their five-game losing streak Friday night by beating the Indiana Fever 78-74 in a game that literally came down to the final seconds.
Katie Douglas scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Sun, but it was Asjha Jones' crucial three-point play with just 27 seconds remaining that gave the Sun a slim, 76-74 lead and the impetus to finish off their feisty opponents.
Jones scored 16 points and Margo Dydek contributed a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Tan White and Tamika Whitmore each scored 15 points to lead the Fever (9-3).
All-star forward Tamika Catchings had a sub par offensive game with just nine points, though she did pull down 12 rebounds and dish out seven assists.
After White hit a 3-pointer to put the Fever up 74-73 with just 31 seconds remaining, Jones made her decisive 3-point play.
Indiana's Anna DeForge missed a potential game-tying jump shot on the next possession for Indiana and Douglas made two free throws for the Sun to seal the deal.
