Auburn Hills, MI (AHN) - Swin Cash led the Detroit Shock with 21 points in a 94-79 victory over the Washington Mystics on Wednesday night.

The win moved the Shock to 3-0, while the Mystics fell to 0-4.

"We killed ourselves," Milton-Jones said. "When you turn the ball over, that's a missed opportunity to get a shot at a basket. That's a lot of potential points that we gave away."

Katie Smith and Plenette Pierson scored 14 points for Detroit, the defending WNBA champions.

"We have so many scorers that no one can zone in on one player," said Cash.

The Shock had 24 assists in the game, including 17 in the first half. Detroit was ahead 45-36 at halftime and were up by as many as 16 in the second half.

Washington clawed its way back into the game, taking advantage of three Detroit turnovers in a span of 47 seconds to cut the deficit to 49-47.

Detroit used its 3-point shooting to expand the lead back to 66-59 at the end of the third quarter.

Alana Beard contributed 16 points for Washington while newly-acquired Monique Currie added five points in her first game with the team. Beard was brought over from Chicago in a trade last week.

Delisha Milton-Jones topped Washington's scorers with 18 points.
