Indianapolis, IN (AHN) - Tamika Catchings scored 24 points to lead the Indiana Fever to an 83-70 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks in a WNBA game Thursday night.

Indiana (2-0) forced 20 turnovers and outrebounded the Sparks (1-1) 34-29.

Catchings also had eight rebounds and five assists for Indiana.

Chamique Holdsclaw had 23 points and six rebounds for the Sparks. Taj McWilliams-Franklin had 12 points and six rebounds.

Indiana led 49-38 early in the third quarter before Los Angeles rallied. Holdsclaw made a 3-pointer, capping a 12-1 run that tied the score at 50. But Indiana went on a 10-2 run to end the quarter, capped by Tan White's 3-pointer from the right corner just before the buzzer for a 60-52 lead.

Tamika Whitmore had 11 points and Tammy Sutton-Brown had 10 points and six rebounds for Indiana.
